OCSInvventory.exe Crash in Vista
Hello,
I recently set up a new OCS server on our domain and I am testing OCSLogin.exe to see if Inventory is being done on the OCS server. It works perfectly with our Windows XP machines but when I try to run it on Windows Vista Enterprise edition, I get this error:

Basically, OCSInventory.exe crashes and nothing else happens, no inventory or anything. I checked the OCS log and here is what is produced:
Service is installed on: C:\Program Files\OCS Inventory Agent
Testing: C:\Program Files\OCS Inventory Agent\BIOSINFO.EXE
http://SERVER/ocsinventory/deploy/ocsagent.exe : success
Testing ocsagent.exe version:4032
Proxy use.
Testing Service...
Service missing
So, Im not sure if anyone has had this problem or has a work around for getting OCS to inventory Vista. Any help would be appreciated.

Please, make some official statement about ocs and Vista (crashes, UAC etc.) and stick it on the forum.

Sounds like it is looking for the service for OCS and it either can't find it or it isn't started.
My suggestion is try running OcsAgentSetup.exe. This installs the service to the local machine.
Let me know what you get.

You will see a more accurate one on our web site until the end of the week.

My server is 192.168.20.5
I run the following in Vista 64 bit.
ocsinventory.exe /server:192.168.20.5 /pnum:8081 /S /NP /HKCU /NOSPLASH /DEBUG
Vista stop the program and cannot run also.

On Vista, run agent with /DEBUG command line.
It seems to fix problem.

Yes it fixes the problem. Does this command have a consequence of functionality ? It simply creates a log file ?
Have you a reason of this no crash with this /debug command line ?

I had the same problem when i try to get the inventory from Vista Client. My script line its seems like this \\red-server\ocs\ocsinventory.exe /server:192.168.2.139 /np /force /notag
But If I run the ocsinventory.exe from my disc it works fine, if I run from network I had APPCRASH. What can I do??
