A connection with the server could not be established

Hello All,

after running OCS for about a month without any hiccups, i seem to have run into one. after going thru the posts, i cannot find anything that resembles my problem.

from the server (windows server 2003) i can access: http://localhost:PNUM/ocsreports but i cannot access http://localhost:PNUM/ocsinventory - i receive this error:

Bad request!
Your browser (or proxy) sent a request that this server could not understand.

If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.

furthermore, when i try to connect from a client workstation, i get a network timeout error (as displayed in Firefox). Also, if try to run ocsinventory.exe from a command prompt, my log file returns this:

Re: A connection with the server could not be established

/ocsinventory expects specfic input from the agents. That's why you get a err 400. It's 100% normal.

About the agent log. Do you have a firewall somewhere. Can you access http://ServerIP/ocsinventory from the workstation?

Re: A connection with the server could not be established

ok, i guess i misunderstood all the other posts i read, my bad.

no, i cannot access: http://ServerIP/ocsinventory from the workstation, i get the same network timeout message. as for firewall, there's the windows one running but it's always worked with it running...i'll try with it off and get back to you...

thanks!

for the record, i'm still a newbie with this software and as potent as it is, i'm having difficulty wrapping my head around the logic.
