I am attempting to install and configure OCS-NG to inventory some servers in my environement. The Server is running on RHEL4u5. The install went OK and I have installed the agent on several boxes to test with the following results.
Linux agent on the OCS server itself runs great and reports inventory.
Windows service agent on two seperate windows boxes works great and reports inventory.
Mac agent on a test iBook running 10.4 runs great and reports inventory
Mac agent on another Mac running 10.4 does not finish running and ends with the following error:
[ ERROR ] Cannot transmit inventory. Response Code: 500
The ocsinv.log on the local machine shows:
[ INFO ] OCS Mac Agent started at Tue, 15 Jan 2008 13:36:52 -0700
[ ERROR ] Error contacting communication server [http://ocsinventory-ng/ocsinventory].

[ INFO ] OCS Mac Agent started at Tue, 15 Jan 2008 13:56:39 -0700
[ ERROR ] Error contacting communication server [http://its-ocs01/ocsinventory].
When I look at the httpd error log on the server I see several of these errors:
Issuing rollback() for database handle bing DESTROY'd without explicit disconnect() at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.5/Apache/Ocsinventory/Server/Inventory.pm line 74.
DBD::mysql::db do failed: Unknown column 'N' in 'field list' at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.5/Apache/Ocsinventory/Server/Inventory.pm line 167.
I would love to know where to continue looking to troubleshoot this before I continue to roll out more agents. And if anyone knows why it would work OK for one Mac agent but not the second that would be great. This is the latest Mac agent downloaded just a few days ago, by the way.
Thanks in advance if anyone has any thoughts.

We are getting the same issue with Mac OCS 4.4 talking to a Linux server. Mac clients running 10.5.
[ INFO ] OCS Mac agent started at Mon. 05 Jan 2009 21:43:52 -0808
[ INFO ] No new update needed for this agent
[ INFO ] Starting inventory of mac82162
[ INFO ] Cannot transmit inventory. Response code: 500
No further info on that or why it can't transmit the inventory (or name) and we are having trouble with computers reporting the correct hostname as posted on another thread here.

I continue to get the response code 500 error on a large number of my non Intel Macs:
[ INFO ] OCS Mac Agent started at Fri, 08 May 2009 08:48:52 -0700
[ INFO ] No new update needed for this agent
[ INFO ] Starting inventory of Music 213-04
[ ERROR ] Cannot transmit inventory. Response Code: 500
We incorporated sth's patches too but continue to get this error. We are running OCS 1.01 and have not moved to 1.02 yet.
Is anyone else having the error 500? How do you fix it?
thank you.
