Duplicated N/A Mac address

Hello,

The Mac client reports network interfaces with N/A as Mac address.
So when you look at duplicated items in the administration console you see all the Mac under "Mac address only" as the bluetooth (N/A) or internal modem (N/A) are reported.

Is it possible to modify the client to avoid this behaviour ?

Re: Duplicated N/A Mac address

Which client is this?  The PHP client by jason?  Or the unified unix client in early beta?

Re: Duplicated N/A Mac address

It's the PHP client.
I also had to apply your really useful patch to add my Leopard PPC to OCS.
I have the same behavior with PPC and Intel iMacs. I only have 10 Intel Xeon MacPro which have all interfaces correctly recognized : 2 ethernets and 1 firewire all with their Mac addresses.

Re: Duplicated N/A Mac address

If you look at the Preferences/Network you will see a list of all the "interfaces" defined for that machine.  The php client reports all of those interfaces whether or not the hardware exists.  You can delete excess interfaces.  For example I have a G5 that reports
Ethernet 1 - en0
Ethernet 2 - en1
Firewire-fw0
and MAC addresses for all of those.  There are also another 8 interfaces with no MAC address and shows a little green "X" as they are blacklisted automatically and so do not show up as duplicates.  I am running v 1.02RC3 as a server under Mac OS X server.

Re: Duplicated N/A Mac address

If you are speaking of the Preferences on the client computers, I don't see any problem. The interfaces that appear exist.
But here is the problem :
With a PowerBook G4 for example I have :
1 ethernet : Mac address ok
1 internal modem : In OCS N/A as Mac address
1 bluetooth : In OCS N/A as Mac address
1 firewire : ok
1 airport : ok

With an iMac :
1 Bluetooth : N/A
1 ethernet : ok
1 firewire : ok
1 airport : ok

For each computer type it's different but I think that only the existing interfaces are reported but some without Mac addresses.

I use a Linux server with version 1.01 and I don't see any way to delete or blacklist an interface in the administration console.
I tried editing doublons.php file (as explain in the link attached on the first post.)
